Nexxus Care decided to move digital… the honest feedback on this is we should have done it sooner!

The care industry is heavily regulated, heavily scrutinized, and heavily audited, and rightly so! For a provider, I think we can talk on behalf of most by saying ‘if it’s not written down, it hasn’t been done’ The transition from the well-known, traditional paper method was quite honestly, daunting. However, we had a full implementation and testing program in place before going live and rigorously tested and challenged our thought process.

Why? Nexxus deliver over 6,000 visits per week, across the whole county. We recognised we needed to be more responsive, able to adapt quicker, commence our care offer quicker, and have further oversight of the quality of our services. The sheer volume we deliver daily was becoming increasingly difficult to monitor and audit the way we want to. Equally, paperwork and the logistics of the right paperwork being in the right places was also becoming a struggle. However, we are now able to offer our care workers a much more responsive and effective way of working, allowing more time caring and less time completing paperwork. Equally, should there be any changes to a care plan or an unexpected change in the order of events for that day, this information is shared securely and instantly — mitigating any areas of miscommunication.

All in all, we believe this change has strengthened our business allowing a greater quality of care to be delivered, further governance, and benefitting our workforce with effective and safe communication, a more holistic and well-rounded approach.
