Mill Rise is a large retirement living scheme that is open for anyone to join when there are flats available. that is open for anyone over 55 to apply to move into when apartments become available. However, elements of this retirement scheme include the delivery of care, and all rental applicants are reviewed by a panel which consists of the housing and care providers and the Local Authority Therefore, it is marked as an extra care scheme. Nexxus Care tuped over to its services back in 2019. Mill Rise is a modern and new scheme and was only build recently 2009.
Mill Rise is located in Newcastle Under Lyme and has been in operation for only 14 years. The building is a 60 bedded scheme, and we currently provide care a percentage of those living in the scheme.
The building itself is owned by housing provider Aspire and they have done a great job in ensuring the building provides a homely and friendly atmosphere. One of Mill rises greatest features is the beautiful gardens that surround the grounds. The stunning gardens have plenty of seating areas and green lands that is loved by all.
Although, the service we provide within our extra care schemes is similar to the way we run our Domiciliary care service. Referrals are dealt with in a different way. When a new individual moves into an apartment at Mill Rise the housing provider assesses that individual to understand whether or not they will need care to be provided. Once a need is identified depending on that individuals circumstances the housing provider comes to us to see if we have the capacity to take on that call. If Nexxus can accommodate the hours safely and effectively, we will commence care as soon as possible (N.B. Subject to pre-admission assessments). We can take on any package of care whether it is through brokerage or private.
The bus stop is outside of Mill Rise and has connections throughout Newcastle under Lyme and Stoke on Trent.

The bus stop is a few minutes walk away and has connections to Cannock, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
Cannock train station is a five minute drive away with direct trains to Birmingham and Rugeley Trent Valley.
There is on-site parking available for people with cars.
