I joined Nexxus care in July 2018 as the Chief Operating Officer. I am legally responsible for the business along with 5 other board directors.
My role is to ensure the business is run safely and effectively adhering to all regulations at all times. I set the strategic direction for the company and attend regular board meetings to share business updates monthly with all board members. I have worked in the care industry in a variety of roles for 13 years and can quite honestly say I would not do anything different.
I am immensely proud of what Nexxus have achieved since trading started in Jan 2018 and thoroughly excited for the future of Nexxus Care, delivering care to those that need it across Staffordshire, safe in the knowledge that policies and processes are embedded throughout
the organisation to deliver high-quality care, supporting Staffordshire County Council and the framework of all Staffordshire care providers. A personal motto of mine: “It's not what you do, it's why you do it.” Nexxus Care is all about the ‘why’, myself and the teams around me all understand the why, and that’s so vitally important.
I have worked at Meadowyrthe for almost 8 years, starting as a Care Assistant, moving to Senior Care Assistant, to Deputy Manager and then to now Registered Manager in August 2022. Prior to this I had some experience in Care – from a volunteer role when I first left school and then Community Care prior to commencing at Meadowyrthe. I had many years of experience in retail, working at Asda for more than 18 years and some catering experience working at Drayton Manor in the hospitality area for 7 years.
In 2021, Meadowyrthe were tupeed over to Nexxus Care I can honestly say that this is the best thing to happen to the home! Nexxus have invested time and money into the provision we offer, as well as the staff team, and have bought the home up to date in less than 2 years – with further improvements to come. A great place to work and a great company to work for - I love that I am part of a team that is making a difference to people’s lives daily.
I have previously worked in both home care and domiciliary care and have around 3 years of experience within the care sector. I joined Nexxus at the beginning of September 2021 as a recruitment administrator. My role is to ensure that all our compliance checks are completed to the highest level, ensuring we recruit the strongest, most trustworthy carers possible. All of us here at Nexxus is very passionate about the level of care provided and want to ensure both our service users and staff are consistently happy. I am proud to be a part of the Nexxus Care team.
I have worked in the care sector for 12 years, I started as a volunteer community support workers for a Learning Disabilities charity in my spare time, I enjoyed the role so much I left my job working on Apple contracts for TNT and took a position as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities, I progressed to Team Leader before moving into Residential Care with Accord housing as Duty Senior and was tupeed across to Nexxus Care in July 2021.
It’s been a whirlwind 18 months where I have progressed to Deputy Manager thanks to Nexxus for putting their faith and trust in me and investing in me as a person, here at Meadowyrthe Nexxus have provided us with a lovely environment not only for us to work in but for our residents to live in, investment in the building, staff training, equipment and resources have all brought together a fantastic caring and safe environment for all the people we care for and everyone who works in and visits the service
I am the registered manager at Woodlands View. I have worked in care since 2008 and I started as a support worker, supporting amazing people like you! In my other positions I have worked alongside great teams just like we have here and having great people around me has given me lots of experience. I am new to my role at Woodlands view and I am very happy to be working with the team I have to make sure our service users are safe and comfy during their stay at Woodlands View.
I have worked in the care sector for over 30 years. After completing college, I worked for 10 years in a residential care home, and moved into the home care sector, where I have been fortunate enough to progress. I started as a care worker, moving to a senior care worker, co-ordinator, registered manager and for the past 8 years as a regional trainer. I have worked with Nexxus for nearly two years and find them to be passionate about the work that they do.
I have worked in the health & social care sector now for over 30 years, 22 years spent specialising in supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and challenging behaviour.
I began my career as a support worker and through personal development, experience and gaining formal qualifications, has enabled me to carve a career as a registered manager with my previous employer onto operations management managing the business in its entirety and commissioning various care services in Staffordshire creating fantastic opportunities for people with learning disabilities so they can lead a meaningful fulfilling life with choice, empowerment and control, to create new experiences and opportunities based on their identified needs, their own personal goals and wishes after all, those in our care are at the heart of what I do.
I have worked in the Care Sector for just over 25 years starting my journey has a ‘Saturday Girl’, supporting elderly people in a residential care home to shower . During these years I have held senior care positions, working in Residential, EMI and Nursing Homes. I have experienced working with Adults with Learning disabilities. I worked in a private home for 6 years where I started as a support working ,progressing to senior and further progression to Deputy Manager .
I joined the care team at School Court in 2013 initially a carer ,working the night shift . I took the opportunity to move onto the days and progressed to become a Team Leader and then further progression to my present position . I do enjoy my job tremendously and work with a great team. I feel strongly that we should enable people in care to remain as independent as possible and focus on supporting them to enjoy their remaining years, doing whatever makes them happy.
I currently manage School Court Extra Care Scheme, Hednesford. My role as Registered Manager is critical in the adult social care sector as at the heart of any service is a manager who is working hard to ensure that they can create a person-centered culture that delivers great, high-quality care. This is School Court, and this is Nexxus. School Court currently provides care for 25 Residents and emergency response to all 41 Residents living at the Scheme. I am also Operational Lead for Residential Services. I support our two Residential Care Homes, Meadowyrthe and Bracken House with any operational support they require.
I have worked in the care sector for 14 years and joined Nexxus Care in February 2019.
I have worked my way up to Registered Branch Manager, my care days started as a support worker for people with Learning Disabilities before moving into Domiciliary Care as a care worker, I then progressed into the role of a coordinator which I did for a number of years before moving into the role of a Care Delivery Manager. I am proud to be part of the Nexxus Care team making a difference to people's lives.
I have been working in the care industry for 15 years starting my journey as a care worker. I have worked in a residential care home for the elderly and then moved into community work which I thoroughly enjoyed, and further progressed to become an administrator for the care company I worked for. In December 2018 I transferred over to Nexxus Care. Where my career has progressed further into recruitment. At Nexxus Care, we are passionate as a team to provide the highest level of care and support to all customers.
My journey into care started with me working in housing and managing independent living schemes, which I found very fulfilling. I enjoyed signposting customers to get the help they required to be able to continue to live as independent as possible. During this time SARH converted Jubilee Court into an Extra care scheme, this was thirteen years ago, whilst covering at Jubilee on the housing side the concept of Extra care became my passion, I signposted a lot of customers to live at Jubilee Court as I felt that it was a great way forward for people to live a fulfilled life, but to still have that independence of been able to shut their front door to the world if that is what they wanted, or to attend lots of activities and become a part of the Jubilee Community, having care on site 24hrs a day 7 days a week really sold the whole concept to me. I was approached by the care provider in Jubilee to see if I had any interest to becoming the manager of Jubilee Court Stafford. That was the start of my journey, which was 12 years ago now. I have managed many schemes as well as jubilee Court, I also went on to be an area manager, managing managers in Extra care schemes so I have seen the model working around the country which amounts to lots of very happy customers and hopefully a broad knowledge of Extra Care.
I started in the care industry as a personal assist for a young gentleman who was a quadriplegic after sadly having a major motor bike accident. This gentleman I believe, showed me the importance and value of life itself and how things can change in a heartbeat. I worked for 3 years with this gentleman and then progressed into the community care world. I enjoyed going around meeting lots of different people who all had interesting adventures/stories to tell of their lives.I worked in the community from 2006-2012, I was then offered a post as a senior care worker within Chestnut Grange Independent Living Scheme and accepted. I worked my way up to a Team Leader and became the Line Manager in 2016. I was TUPE over to another company in 2019 and TUPE to Nexxus on 2023 and have been promoted to the Branch Manager. I am hoping to become the registered manager within the next year at Chestnut Grange.
I started off my career in care in 2001, starting as a community care worker, to a respite sheltered housing complex then transferred to Independent Living where I supported people living with a learning disability. In 2012 I applied for a position as a Care Co Ordinator, I met some wonderful people while working towards achieving the best outcomes for them, I quickly learned to manage and was promoted, where I managed a team of staff also on the community. I was lucky enough in June 2017 to get the post at Beacon Park Village as the registered manager and I am very grateful to be able to work in an environment such as this. I believe as a manager support and pride are something that should be upheld daily and we as a team do this well.
In 2023 myself and my great team of staff were tuped across to Nexxus Care. I continue to enjoy my role at Beacon Park Village and carry on meeting and supporting many more residents coming into the village and look forward to working with the Nexxus Team to provide the best care possible.
I have worked in care since 2004, I started working for the NHS on a mental health assessment Unit for the over 65's. I left to gain experience in the community and became an MH support worker for SCC, I moved on to work for Allied Healthcare in 2011, I worked as a coordinator, and progressed to branch manager in 2017. In Dec 2018 I transferred to Nexxus Care. My job role entails managing a team of branch staff and carers, it is to ensure rotas are complete to enable carers to attend customers to provide personal care and medication, complaints are dealt with in the correct time frame.
I have a team of around 90 carers and a team of 12 branch staff. The branch currently provides care to around 150 customers within the community. I thoroughly enjoy working for Nexxus as we have a very supportive senior management team, the main goal is to provide a high level of care and support.
I have worked in the care sector for 13 years and joined Nexxus Care in April 2018. My care career began as a support worker for people with learning disabilities in supported living. I then moved into Reablement as a support worker, and I then progressed to the role of senior/ coordinator, which I held for a few years before taking on the role of registered manager.
I am proud to be part of the Nexxus Care team and to make a difference in people’s lives.
I have worked in Care for over 20 years working with the elderly.
I started as a support worker and have worked my way up to my present job with Nexxus as a Care Manager since November 2019 in an Extra Care scheme in Wombourne.
I have gained my qualifications in Management, including my Registered Managers Qualification and my Level 5 in Leadership and Management. I find my job very rewarding by making a difference every day to Residents lives and seeing the smile on their faces when they have achieved something they didn't think they could achieve.
I joined Nexxus Care in December 2018 as Operations Director. I have 24 years of experience in the Health and Social Care Sector. I have varied roles in the industry from a care worker, co-ordinator, Registered Branch Manager, Care Delivery Director, and now Operations Manager. I love working in the care sector and thrive off the difference and impact our care team has on our service users' lives. Our service can be the difference between somebody remaining independent in their own home or going into full-time care. Our goal is to help the residents of Staffordshire to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible.
My Mum sadly suffers from advanced Alzheimers so I know and understand how important care workers are to support my family.
I have worked in residential care for over 35 years. During this time I have covered both days and nights, and have worked my way up to the position of Manager (Registered Manager). I am responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of all residents, staff, and visitors to the home. I believe that we must offer the best possible care to our residents whilst also supporting their families and loved ones. We achieve this through a highly motivated, well-trained, and caring team. I am extremely proud to be part of Nexxus Care.
My job is to engage with and empower new carers and create a space where they can ask questions about the job they will be doing and ensure they know what will be expected from them working for Nexxus Care. Training is a two-way process so it’s really important to make sure new carers are actually learning when doing our training sessions. We go through an array of topics in classroom training as well as at home working and also online training to ensure we cover all avenues of the learning process.
My job is to also do mandatory update training with our existing staff to ensure everyone is up to date with current policies and procedures and current regulations and legislations relating to their job role.
I am the Accounts Administrator for Nexxus Care. I started working for Nexxus Care in Dec 2018 as part of a TUPE transfer where I was an administrator for the Stafford Branch. In April 2021 I was fortunate enough to progress into my Accounts Administrator role. My role included Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Payroll, and procurement along with supporting Stafford Branch, which I thoroughly enjoy as this is where it all started. I now work as a Liaison Officer at Nexxus Care and am thoroughly enjoying this role.
I have loved every moment working for Nexxus Care and have been highly supported throughout my years here. I couldn’t ask for a better team or company to work for and I am proud to be a part of a growing business.
I have worked in the domiciliary care since 2015 , I started my journey as a care worker and through opportunities and professional development, I progressed to Senior Care Worker. I joined Nexxus Care in 2019 as a Senior Care Worker and have since progressed into the role of Deputy Manager in our Stafford Branch and am now working as a Regional Trainer.
I fell into the care industry 15 years ago, after looking after my mom, thinking if I could, do this for Mom I could perhaps help other people. Rather brave at the time, coming from a manager’s, position in retail. That was the start of my care journey, starting as a care worker, senior care worker assistant Manager, to now a manager of over ten years. I find care rewarding, often reactionary, it’s good to make a difference to someone’s day, to make, someone smile, whether that be the Clients we look after, or our amazing staff that support the Clients.
I have worked in the healthcare industry for over 10 years, starting as a bank worker in domiciliary care, and working my way up by hard work and dedication, to my position now with Nexxus, as residential deputy manager. I have gained my qualification in management and my level 5 in health and social care which I am extremely proud of.
I am a strong believer in teamwork and would never ask my staff to do something I wouldn’t be prepared to do myself. I love working in health care and will always make sure the resident’s health and wellbeing are a priority by ensuring all staff work in a person-centred way and treat everyone as if they were family. Seeing a resident with a smile on their face makes realise I made the right career choice.
In my role as a recruitment manager, I believe that every member of the team plays a pivotal role in delivering the best care we can. I am proud that we pride ourselves on high levels of compliance checks and the recruitment we follow. The recruitment stage plays an important part in the onboarding of all new employees to the business. From working in the care sector for over 10 years I am a strong believer that is important to build good working relationships from the start. This can only be achieved by knowing that the recruitment team is friendly, open, honest, and caring to every individual that applied to the service.
I find my role very rewarding knowing that we are recruiting caring individuals to ensure our service users remain as independent as possible.
